The TS series (like the TS600 or TS1000) is for smaller spaces or light racks. Think tight vertical clearance, or supplementing natural light in a greenhouse. They’re simple, they work, and they’re cheap. But they don’t have the coverage you’ll need for a 4x4 or 5x5 flowering tent.
The FC series (like the FC-E 3000 or FC4800) are your “wide format” lights. They spread the diodes over a bigger panel, so you get better light distribution without hotspots. We use FC-E 3000s in our veg room because they cover a 3x3 area nicely and keep the canopy even. For flowering, we run the bigger FC4800s in a 4x4 array—and honestly, they’ve performed as well as the much more expensive lights we used to run.
